Here's some feedback TBFN received from families who attended our past events...
"Speed Dating" for Families & Support Workers!
This event was the first of its kind and was created to present an opportunity for both family members looking for support workers and support workers looking for employment. The time spent together focused on meeting one and another while asking questions to seek out the best possible match. A “speed dating” approach was utilized to help establish as many connections as possible between families & support workers. If you would like to be added as a support worker or family for our next ‘speed dating’ session, please contact us!
Social Support Networks
This event focused on the process for developing and maintaining social support networks for individuals with special needs, including both the benefits and challenges. Two different networks were present for this opportunity and shared their experiences. Sharon Bak, President of TBFN was this topic’s speaker. Sharon holds a diploma in Social Service Work and has spent 20 years supporting individuals and families in the developmental services sector. If you would like to receive the presentation which was shared at this session, please contact us!
Wills, Estate Planning & Guardianship

This opportunity is not what everyone would care to think about but covered the importance of why planning for your loved ones’ future is so imperative and important. Topics discussed included wills, estate planning, guardianship, and the Henson Trust.
