Grant Announcements!

Thunder Bay Family Network is grateful to have been the receipts of two grants for the 2024- 2025 year. Funding from the Ontario Caregiver Organization, who provide Family Support Network grants, will allow us to hold a workshop for individuals and families that is focused on the transition from high school to adult. The focus will be not only on services, but tools and resources that can assist with future planning and what the dreams and gifts of our loved ones are and how we can nurture them. We are looking to hold this in late January of 2025. We are also grateful to Community Living Ontario who has provided funds through their Family Engagement Grant Initiative. These funds will be used to hold a dinner for families with a guest speaker as well as round table discussions on topics that are important to your family. We will be able to provide a care room for loved ones, should they require a quiet place and it will be staffed by experienced support workers. A survey will go out soon to ask families what topics they would like to see discussed in the round tables. And some of our ICAN participants will be showcasing their talents for an entertainment portion! This event will be held in March.
